Penny Lane Collection for My Mind's Eye

Home-winter2009
I am excited about my new paper line coming out with My Mind's Eye scrapbook company at Winter CHA 2009.  It should be in stores by the end of February. Check them out on My Mind's Eye website.  The Freebird Collection is dedicated to my friend, Amber, who passed away in August 2008.

New Year 2009

Disneyland Christmas 2008 Like everyone, the holidays were busy.  Work deadlines up until Christmas Eve, but somehow managed to get a surprise trip to Disneyland planned for the kids.  My 7 year old didn't know where we were until we got to the gate!  Crowded and crazy, but hopefully some good memories my family can hang on to.

Here a template to use for your new years resolution to scrapbook more!

Time Flies

Kate 2005-2008

Time flies, especially in October.  We have 4 out of our 6 birthdays within 1 month of each other!  Kate's birthday is the last of the bunch.  I have simplified my Halloween/Kate's birthday dilemma with an annual costume party.  This way I make sure I have her Halloween costume (or choice of costumes) ready, the theme is always picked, and we even do a little "trick or treat training" through the neighborhood.

Here is a little bonus for you digi-scrappers.  This is the template I used for both of the above layouts.

I'm coming up so you better get this hockey started...

Hockey Season 2008

I am not much into politics, but apparently I have something in common with John McCain's running mate, Sara Palin...I, too, am a bulldog hockey mom.  Can't wait to watch my boys and their friends get on the ice for another year of heart pumping action!  Hopefully my heart will keep pumping with Jack as a goalie (THE PRESSURE) and Sam starting to CHECK.

Besides showcasing these boys (can't you tell they are thrilled?) I wanted to show some of my digital kits available on pclayers.  The background grid paper used is part of a new kit that just came out last week called Penny Lane

I also used my Moonshadow Kit for the brushes.

Our Own Tiny Dancer

Kate Fall 2008
Kate tiny dancer

When the Tiny Dancer Collection was introduced on pclayers, I didn't have a real dancing girl to sample with the kit...I am excited to say, that I do now.  It was so fun to watch Kate dance around in her little leotard and tap shoes for the past week.

She had a melt down on Monday when she had to take the dance clothes off to do some yard work.  As she put on a new outfit she began to cry, "I don't look pretty anymore!"  We are in for it.  I don't think we have ever heard those words in our house before, but I doubt it is the last time.

I am having fun getting a delicate little dance bag together...it is a change from the 3 huge stinky hockey bags I am use to stocking up and packing in the back of the car.

Storybook Cricut Cartridge Sample - Birthday Banner

Birthday sign

I love making my own birthday banners and now Storybook makes it easy for everyone!

Start by using coordinating papers, making sure the letters contrast enough with the background you are using.

Materials:
Coordinating Cardstock
Dots adhesive or glue stick
Ribbon

Step one:  Cut out 13 Daisy (T's Shift) using the Blackout Feature at 4".

Step two:  Cut out 2 Clover (M's Shift) at 4".

Step three:  Cut out HAPPY BIRTHDAY at 2.5" using the Shorty Feature.

Step four:  Glue on letters using adhesive in center of scallops.

Step five:  Thread ribbon through holes.

Now you are ready to celebrate!

These would also make a fun birthday gift for a friend.  I love a gift I can use again and again.

Storybook Sample - Princess Party

Crown A
PRINCESS CROWN

Throwing a party for a princess… A sweet little crown for the event.  (Also included are examples of an invitation, magic wand, and notebook/pencil topper party favors)

Materials:
Crate paper Carnival collection, snow cone #CA132
Crate paper Baby Bee collection, little one #BE225
Peach cardstock
       3D dots adhesive
    Ribbon
    Hole punch

Step one:   Use paper #CA132 (patterned side up), select the crown with the Shadow feature and the shift option.  Set dial size to
5 ¼ or”fit to page” feature, then press cut.

Step two:  Use peach cardstock, select the flower or graphic of your choice in the Accent blackout feature and the shift option.  Set dial size to 3, the press cut.

Step three:  Use the remainder of the paper #CA132 with pink side up, select the Shorty feature and whatever letter you choose.  Set dial size to 2 ¼, then press cut.  Cut same letter on paper #BE225 with dial set to 2.  Using the 3D dot adhesive, adhere the smaller letter on top of the larger letter, and then adhere this, with the 3D dots, to the center of the flower that was cut in step two.

Step four:  Center the flower with letter attached on the crown and adhere with 3D dot adhesive.

Step five:  Use hole punch and make a hole on either end of crown and tie a piece of ribbon through each hole.  Now you are finished and you have a sweet little crown for your princess.  Just place crown on forehead of child and tie ribbon together at back of head.
